Summer Art Exhibitions

London in the summer is a golden, shiny time of incredibly inspiring art exhibitions. Two particular shows worked their magic on Esa and eventually, she downed tools in the studio and took off for a day in the City...

The London Mastaba

Swim it to believe it: Esa dipped in to The Serpentine Lido for a swim beneath The London Mastaba; Christo's floating sculpture made up of 7,506 barrels floating on the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park.

The installation is closely monitored to ensure no environmental damage is done to the lake. The installation coincides with the Christo & Jeanne-Claude exhibition at The Serpentine Galleries.

Picasso 1932: Love, Fame, Tragedy

This collection of 100 works are from a single year in 1932. Aged fifty, it was one of Picasso's most productive and energetic years. All the works are inspiring, but for Esa it's the simple pencil sketches the reveal Picasso's immense ability.

The EY Exhibition: Picasso 1932 – Love, Fame, Tragedy is at Tate Modern, Bankside, London, SE1 9TG until September 9, 2018. £10–22.
